Not great quality but it illustrates Rob's point about the basic seating of this era's TLs. AFA sounding Clare College Cambridge's Memorial Court about 1977. Dodge/ERF WrL and ERF HCB/A PHP 50' SVE 668K.

Certainly does not look very comfortable! But of course by then it was very rare in most places for there to be enough staff on watch to have anyone riding in the back of a TL. Seems like the driver decided to drive wearing shoes, then change into his fire boots once he got there! I guess he did not know that only college fellows are allowed to leave their shoes on the grass…
