Does anyone know what we are looking at on the roof just behind the crew cab?

I was just wondering that myself, Rob. My first thoughts were a light mast maybe....?

It looks like a very complicated contraption, which I would have thought to be overkill if all it is is a light. Some appliances have a folding platform on a collapsed frame, which allows rescuers to stand alongside the cab doors of big semi trucks to perform extrications - but this seems a bit too small to be one of those. May be Heath Robinson will see this photo one day, and all will be revealed!

Ed: my first thought was that it is a HGV platform
