28 year service life, quite similar to a lot of Mercedes fire trucks in other countries over the years. A large number are still in service in South America and other countries after more than twenty years service in Europe and another ten or twenty after being exported to their new location.... Several examples of these remarkably durable older trucks can be seen on this site.
