Munich has ten full time and 22 volunteer fires stations, and the current plan is to continue to acquire rescue pumpers to replace older pumpers so that by 2026 the fleet will comprise 81 such units.
The city started using rescue pumpers in 1995, around ten years after Berlin first developed the concept. The current acquisitions represent the third generation.
