Note the easily accessible pump control panel, not requiring removal of either of the hose carts. The high pressure 23 mm hose reel is in the center locker above the pump, and can also be easily unwound without moving either of the hose carts. In this way, the contents of the 3000 litre tank and CAFS can be deployed with either the hose reel or an attack line before using a cart to set into a hydrant. It should be noted that in France the high pressure reel is not recommend or approved for interior structure fire operations, as an attack line flowing at least 360 LPM is required - a rule very similar to the SOP in Germany, the US and also Canada.
In France the reel is however used on outdoor nuisance fires and car fires, while in most German fire services and in many US departments the reel is no longer installed on pumpers.
