These dedicated salvage trucks are a rare sight in the Paris area, as only one is assigned to each of the eight fire companies in the metropolitan area. They are usually deployed only at large fires and/or incidents where special equipment is needed for clean up. It is not clear when they respond to hazmat alarms.
