Fire Engines Photos

This is a 16 ton D1617 with a Perkins V8 Diesel engine. The same engine was used in various forms by Dodge, Dennis, ERF and Shelvoke on their fire appliance chassis too, as well in the Ford SVO D1317. This chassis was used by Greater Manchester for pump appliances but was otherwise mainly deployed where its 16 ton GVW was required - typically hydraulic platforms and foam tenders like this example, which usually had large tank capacities.
