I’m surprised no UK fire brigades use Renault chassis any longer. My HGV brother used to swear by Renault wagons. This cab and chassis looks like it could really do a job. Would love to see a big Bronto on the back of one of these.

The majority of components in a Renault like the running gear, engine, gearbox etc are actually Volvo and as a result there isn't much of a price difference between a Renault and Volvo these days which could explain the lack of them with UK brigades

Perhaps another reason is that the Renault service and parts network in the UK is rather limited, compared to Volvo, Scania, Iveco, MAN and Mercedes. Foot a fire brigade to order a brand of chassis, they need to be confident that they can get repairs and parts quickly and easily. This was a factor which contributed to the demise of small volume specialists like Dennis, ERF and Shelvoke in favour of commercial truck chassis with usually fairly minor modifications.
