Many large private German fire brigades, with Bayer Chemical being only one example, have large fleets of very effective and often specialized appliances operated by professional paid full time firefighters.

They frequently respond to support public fire brigades, especially in cases where they have equipment which the local brigades may not otherwise be able to access.
