The 813 was an unusually powerful eight ton chassis with its 130 BHP engine, and was the forerunner of the very popular Vario series.

Like the Vario, it was widely used by fire services, especially volunteers. It turned up mainly as an LF8 and DL18, as well as in special roles - like this example.
