Petros: Maybe my eyes are failing, but I don’t see where the pump was?

Ed: I see your point. It may have been retrofitted? I need to check my notes. I must have got the gpm from somewhere!

Your other photo of this appliance suggests that if it was rotated 180 degrees there would be no room for a pump behind the driver’s seat, unless of course it towed a trailer pump. This would not mean that it did not have one fitted after it was photographed, only that it’s usefulness as a turntable ladder was probably a bit limited.

I have looked and cannot find anything definitive. However I am 95% sure the CFO wanted a pump on this machine. So it was either retrofitted (this is a delivery photo) by the brigade mechanic, or as an alternative, was there such a thing as a free standing non plumbed in pump in those days?
In WW2 the CFO went to huge lengths to get the Home Dept of government to fit a pump on his wartime TL, and that is covered in my book. I have the correspondence.
There are v few other photos of this machine to check its later form. However this picture does refer to a pump too

I reckon the pump's under the seat. Chain drive pto case over the gearbox. Pair of deliveries behind the seat. Suction inlet blank cap and four 2.1/2" couplings visible over footboard locker? Just guessing.

Alan: You may well be right! Not sure about the four things under the monitor - they could be valves - but the rest looks like it could be right. If so, a very neat, compact and space saving installation.
