Just as in other countries, the emergence of rescue pumpers has started to bring about a gradual reduction in the numbers of dedicated heavy rescue trucks in France. As the introduction of rescue pumpers to replace older pump water tenders in smaller communities with fewer calls takes several years, this process to pension off surplus rescue trucks will also take a long time too...
