This small rescue truck is very common in France, and is intended mainly for use at road traffic accidents. But - like other countries - France has in the last few years started to deploy rescue pumpers, which carry much of the equipment most often needed at this kind of incident. As a result, these rescue rigs will probably not all be replaced when they reach the end of their service life, as by then the numbers of rescue pumps will have presumably grown considerably.
SDSIS will however most likely still continue to operate both water rescue/ dive team trucks, boat trailers and high angle rope rescue tenders, as these are already separate types in service. Unlike Germany and other Northern European countries, relatively few French fire services operate many of the heavy cranes which are so popular there.
