Yup. I agree with you that these Volvo FL6/Carmichael Heavy Rescue Unit looks more nicer than the Ategos FRU. If i not mistaken LFB put these HRUs as their reserve appliances.

The ex-london FRU now in service in Ireland can be seen at www.blues-twos.com/Louth .
I believe all the Volvo FRUs are now disposed of. The current reserve FRU is a Mk1 Atego - but with the new Atego FRU's currently coming into service, i am told one of the new Atego's is to become the new reserve FRU - i dont know what will happen with the old Reserve though as the new FRUs are supplimenting and not replacing the existing FRUs.

Sean, the FRU will move to Dundalk, within the same county, and replace a Mercedes Van ET so it still lives on. There is also another FRU on the run as an ET in Dublin, can also be seen on Blues and Twos so they all live on, alongside the ex LFB Heavy Rescue Mercs, or Command Support Units, which run across many counties in Ireland.

I was mistaken, the E.T I seen for sale was H853 XYF

There is one of these visible in a parking lot at a fire station in Beirut! That's quite the journey...!

Ed: any chance of a picture. I was at the main station in Beirut but that was late 2015.
