These are not entirely identical, bearing in mind how the factory cab and crew cab are integrated differently. I prefer 41988, which looks much more professional and is very similar to the later HCB Angus treatment, with the styled B pillars and rear doors.

My mistake Rob. This black and white photo definitely is Gloster Saro. The PHH series are by another bodybuilder.

The 1013 had a six cylinder six liter 130 bhp diesel, while the 1014 had a five liter turbocharged 140 bhp engine. Both of these were standard Ford offerings.

These were popular before Ford squeezed the Perkins V8 diesel into a 13 ton chassis, creating the 1317 specifically for fire appliances. This 170 bhp V8 engine - and its successors - were also often installed in Dennis, Dodge, ERF and Shelvoke fire appliance chassis.
