Still going strong...Scanias

Two 2006 West Sussex Scanias attending a small house fire in Storrington on June 26th 2020. Storringtons retained crew of 5 on HX06 GZA, call sign 50P1 had swiftly dealt with the incident before 51P2 HX06 GMO arrived from Worthing with its full time crew of 4. Whatever your views on Scanias the 2006 delivery of appliances have give very good value for money to West Sussex residents, although changes are on the horizon with 12 tonne Volvo Medium Rescue Pumps and Scania 18 tonne Special Rescue pumps due for introduction shortly, although delivery has been delayed by COVID crisis, although the first Volvo has arrived with the brigade for fitting out and training.

The Scanias do seem to have lasted well. Unusual livery, looks American. Vive le difference!

To my eyes, these look as if two halves of quite different vehicles have been assembled "chop shop" style. The cabs look nothing like the rear halves. But Craig, if you are a fan of crazy livery, go to the German pages on this site for some weird and wonderful red, white and yellow stripes and other odd decorative ideas. Everything used to be one standard red in Germany - but that's all over now!
