Fire Engines Photos

I dont know when or where pic was taken, other than a scrap yard (presumably in Hunts or Cambs). Its from a collection of a friend of mine Richard Haughey.

Pic taken at Smiths scrapyard Linton Cambs, in Nov 2018. Probably still there, they have closed now but lots of stuff still in there. They had a sale of their personal collection last year but no fire engines in that.

I could do with the bell bracket

The Miles lightweight alloy construction gave this appliance the ability to carry a fully compliant JDCC 400 IG tank, while the older standard traditional wood framed Dennis body was much heavier - resulting in a maximum tank capacity of 350. In practice, most had either 200 or 300 gallon tanks, as the bigger alternative really compromised locker space on this short wheelbase chassis with narrow bodywork. In addition to the bell bracket, the headlights look pretty fit too!
