The Simonitor seems to have been a passing fad, like the North American Telesquirt and the potentially more useful but still unloved PHP. A penetrating piercing boom has recently been put into service in the UK, based on a system developed for airfield crash tenders, which permits the operators to punch a hole in a door, wall or roof and shoot water or foam into a structure. This does potentially solve a problem of access at some modern industrial buildings, but it remains to be seen how effective it really turns out to be.
