Derbyshire Fire Service was one of the best customers for the Dennis F15 (as seen here) with I believe, 14 purchased. I suspect they were mostly finished as URB 948 with unpainted sides - a style that Derbyshire seemed to be particularly keen on. It is possible that this specification was not available on the earlier orders as they did have some, like RRA 598, that were red all over. Rob is right to compare this machine to a Sheffield F15. The water tender version of the F15 came with a number of body variations but Derbyshire and Sheffield seem to have opted for the same one. My notes say that URB 948 is a 1954 example and served at Buxton. It was a reserve by 1974 but wasn't disposed of until 1980. The 1988 Preserved Vehicle Handbook lists it as being with the South Yorkshire Fire Service Historical Society. If you excuse the fact that URB 948 is listed with the DVLA as a 1954 red Rolls Royce, this appliance has been untaxed since 1995.

This was used in ITV's Heartbeat and a friend would like to buy it. Who owns it now?
It would seem the rear door is a replacement, as the original would presumably have been unpainted like the rest of the body.
