Nice to see you found the station, it eluded me! I saw this from a distance twice on our visit. Did see a heavy crane "on the bell" on last day though

Sorry Gary, for some reason comments are not always being passed onto me so
I missed your comment in reference to Prague Stn 7's crane unit.Yea that was
quite something, they also had a heavy duty rescue unit.Only one man on the
station the day I walked down from my hotel understood English, but I was made
very welcome and they moved out the appliances for me to photograph.I really
didn't have the check to ask for them all to be moved, and actually only one
man on watch could drive the heavy crane unit.Rear shot in station only.Pete.

Such a pity Dennis pretty much ignored the huge potential market to sell their trucks in European markets like this, many of which had limited domestic truck production as alternatives. It was very tough to sell British trucks in places like France, Germany, Italy and Spain, which had strong (and often protected) local truck manufacturers, but Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Portugal and some former Eastern Bloc countries were good potential markets for Dennis - if they had really tried!

I recently learned that the volunteer brigade in Prague still has one of these, but it has not been on the run for more than a year because of the difficulty of locating repair manuals and spare parts. What a contrast when compared to similar vintage Mercedes fire trucks, many of which are still in daily service with volunteers not only in Germany but in numerous other countries, especially in the Middle East and South America.

I don't seem to get messages through here anymore so can't add comments....just happened to see the Peter so checked it out. It does nt seem possible to think that's back in 2007 when there. Really surprised if ones still about.

Ed: hosting IT company says it is a breach of GDPR to alert you to new comments where you have commented before. Hence the lack of alerts. It is a great shame.

Thanks ED for informing of that, yes a real shame.
