Here is a 2010 Sterling Acterra (box truck) set up as a mobile training facility to teach FDNY members how to negotiate confined spaces, small roof hatches and how to use a personal safety rope to bail out of a window. Note the mock-up small window opening and the rubber matting on the sidewalk (inside the safety cones). There was an incident in 2005 where several FF died when they jumped from a fifth story window to escape being burned (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sunday_(2005). (8219a, 8220a)
This is outside the quarters of Engine 284 / Tower Ladder 149 in Brooklyn on Oct 28, 2017.
