This unique appliance was built in 1986 by Mills Tui on a Hino FT175 for the Department of Conservation. They are responsible for running the industrial fire brigade that covers the picturesque Mt Cook village. Unfortunately the appliance was discovered to be grossly overweight and was withdrawn from service although kept in reserve due to its exceptional 4wd abilities. It was photographed in this role in March 2015.
