Delhi FB - unidentified appliance
1960s or 1970s. Sorry for the poor quality but there is an interesting story behind this picture. One of the figures in this picture is Arjan Baharsing ADVANI 1915 -1980 CFO of Delhi FB. Jimmy Advani came to Britain in 1938 as a student. Through the Indian High Commission he was introduced to West Ham FB (LFB said no)for a one year traineeship, to end 1940. However the Blitz started and he stayed becoming a sub officer in WHFB by late 1940. As India was threatened by the Japanese Jimmy returned home later becoming CFO, the first Indian to hold such a post.
I think Jimmy Advani could possibly claim to the the first black professional firefighter in Britain? Can anybody please identify the appliance here?

Kew Dodges were licence built in India by Premier Automobiles and I would guess this is one. They were badged 'Fargo'.

Thanks for the information both. I have found some material about Dodge Kew/Fargo/Premier Automobiles of Bombay on the internet including adverts for tippers but no fire engine pictures, so this one might be a first. It certainly looks like ET or salvage tender. I should have said above Advani became CFO of Delhi FB.
