I have discovered that East Ham Fire Brigade had one of the first diving units in the British fire service. You can see details on You Tube by searching on "frogmen firemen". Nice shots of the old station just up the road from this one and a Dennis F8. There was a large area o docks near the stations. Norfolk FRS has a diving unit currently also on You Tube.
