It looks a bit as if the rear seats in the cab were actually accessed by the sliding doors in the back of the cab, which might explain why the equipment boxes were not finished off in a way which made it comfortable or very safe to sit on them! Certainly a very RUM way of designing an F8 - no other brigade asked Dennis for anything like this, and it does not seem to be an improvement over the more common versions.
