Auxiliary Fire Service Commer Bikini Unit Dudley

1950s built Home Office Auxiliary Fire Service Transportable Water Unit (Bikini Unit) based on a Commer Q4, registration probably RYX 458. One of the three inflatable rafts is being loaded onto the top of the cab roof, its normal stowing point. Photo dated 15th May 1957 on the day of the opening of a new Civil Defence Headquarters at Dudley.
