Must agree, the ECS makes a mean looking vehicle. I have always been an ERF fan (yeah I know) and this is the first time I have looked at an ECS and said yes
If i'm not mistaken Darren, when they first bought ERF out, ERF continued to use the cummins engine, but i think the newer versions are just a re-baged MAN using the MAN chasis/cab and running gear, ie axles/engines etc.
Most UK truck manufacturers went the same way, Foden were bought by Paccar, so used the Daf cab, then they closed Foden, Seddon Atkinson used the Iveco cab and have almost dissapeared.
We can only hope that Dennis keep going, but i read on another post on here that Dennis are brining out the Sabre mk9, with 12 going to the West Midlands, so here's to the great british fight back !
Not as yet, all I know is that West Midlands have placed an order, I have seen the new Dagger Rescue Pump for Royal Berkshire, looks good, and is a lot smaller than the Scania and MAN's we are seeing now, might be a good prospect for brigades with access issues.
Nice pair of machines must admit the erf looks nice but scania puts it to shame looks better and the pump its one of the best in the whole fire engine range
i dont really care whose cab it is but it looks so much more business like than the scania which is a touch feminine in coomparison , we run scanias and to be honest they are alright but not a patch on th esabres which the retained now have , in this photo the ERF wins , looks good, scania now too common and getting stale.
