The city of Bergen in Norway has a big Volvo FL12 aerial appliance. I took this picture when I was on holiday in Norway.

This is not an ALP, but an HP in fact.

It actually looks like a Simon SS220 platform - big chassis for a "little" HP!

Yes Rob, it might be a big chassis, but unlike some that are being made in the UK it will be a lot safer!

Are those Whelen V-head strobes above the front indicators?
That is incredible - I've had ideas for years of what I would do if I could fit out a fire appliance with lights - and having small 360 degree strobe beacons in that position is one of the things I've always thought of doing. I can't believe I've actually seen it on a real fire engine now! They've stolen my idea!

This is a Simon SS220 platform. Originaly used on a 1975-chassis. Moved to this (Volvo-)chassis in 1998, and still in service.

The 360 degree "corner-beacons" are not uncommon on fire engines in Bergen from around this time. They are however fading away with modern ledlight technology.
