Dennis pump

I always enjoy my visits to the Milestones Museum at Basingstoke and I visited again this week to find this 1930's Dennis pump was an addition that I had not seen before. The museum already has a lovely old Steamer that was originally based at Lymington and other fire brigade memorabilia.
The registration of the Dennis is BOR 316 and I hope one of our experts will tell us more about the appliance.
I also enclose a rear view of the pump.

This Dennis Light Six pump with Braidwood body was new to the Aldershot Fire Brigade, Hampshire in 1936 and served there until 1952.It was to also serve at Farnborough for a while and then Hythe where it remained until going out of service in 1961.

It is amazing to me that British firefighters would put up with riding around on Braidwood bodied open cab appliances into the 1960s...

I always thought the FBU were pretty militant, but apparently not when it came to members' safety.
