Macau light appliances

Taken mid-February 2015 through the main gate at Macau central fire station. I think the Mitsubishi Canter (R) is a light pumper and the Mercedes (L) is a light rescue truck.

As a side note, the fire service museum in Macau is worth a visit. Small but some interesting info. Free of charge too!

Is Macau central fire station in this photo nearby to Kiang Wu Hospital; if not, is there still a fire station nearby Kiang Wu Hospital?

Now that the ubiquitous Mercedes Vario has been discontinued, Mercedes is marketing the Canter in Europe as its replacement.

It neatly bridges the gap between the heaviest Sprinter at 5 tons GVW and the lightest Atego at 9.

In addition, in common with other similar size Japanese light trucks, it offers an astonishingly high payload within a GVW range of 6 to 9 tons.

They are already used in Scotland, and will soon be quite common across Europe as Varios are replaced over the next decade.

Canters and heavier Mitsubishi fire trucks are very popular in Australia, too, and are used in virtually all applications including many 4X4 brush units.
