Hi John, I can tell you that the next four appliances due into the service soon are 8" narrower.

Is that just in terms of the mirrors keith? York's older appliances had the mirror arms cut down on them to fit in the bays at the old station are they too big for the new station then?

Hi John,
It is now illegal to cut the mirrors down, hence they don't anymore. Narrower pumps have been requested in York for a while now. Apparently the chassis on the new pumps are higher and the bodys are in line with the crew cabs unlike the previous pumps. Although I thought I would miss the cut down mirrors, I actully prefer the full size ones now, however can become quite tight in places like Micklegate bar ect.
