A side/rear shot of Kent Fire & Rescue Service's Animal Rescue Unit AD02FKO,(895), A Mercedes-Benz Unimog 400/JDC/HIAB seen at Faversham fire station on 28/06/14
Hi Donny, I asked the Stn O. that very question and was told that it turns out approx four times a week, and answered just over two hundred calls last year. It covers the whole county. East Sussex Fire & Rescue have a similar appliance at Crowborough.
Must be the most unlucky animals in Britain in kent. I worked a ruralish station for many years and we were called out about twice a year! I assume they are using it for other uses which is a good thing as it shows its flexibility /value , thanks for the reply.
This would make a useful rural rescue unit for human beings too, and in fact a lot of Unimogs are used as RW1 (Light Rescue Truck) in Germany. I guess they must have different priorities in Kent!
