E-ONE Cyclone II chassis. Federal Signal Corp. parent of E-ONE, bought Saulsbury in 1998, and by 2004, fully merged it with E1.

Definitely too much turkey before logging on and commenting.

Thanks, Warren

Seagrave had nothing to do with building this rig. E-One bought Saulsbury which is now closed.

And E-One promptly closed Saulsbury after finishing all the orders they had at the time of the merger putting a bunch of talented & experienced workers out of good jobs in rural upstate NY.

Only one of so many smaller custom fire truck manufacturers who have disappeared in the US in the years since WWII, just as in many other countries. I think however that Salisbury was one of those which was founded earlier than most and did survive for longer.

Among them were American La France, Ward La France, Boardman, Crimson, Young, Hahn, Maxim, Mack, Ford, Pirsch, Hendrickson, Reo, GMC, FWD, Crown and others, although a few of these survived for longer building commercial or military trucks or buses.

Of course I forgot to mention Ahrens Fox, who built a unique range of pumpers with distinctive front mounted piston pumps for almost half a century . Some are well illustrated on this site, and they are now very prized in collections, museums and a few fire departments’ possession. One volunteer fire company in Halesite on Long Island has a beautiful example in full working order!
