Bedford 2 Alpha Scania Fire Appliance

KU52 KPG is a 2002 Scania P94DB-260/Emergency One rescue pump which is crewed by the wholetime crews at bedford station. It is called Jupiter because it is after the fire engine in Fireman Sam!

Maybe this Scania was named after the 1st version Jupiter999 which didn't have Simon Snorkel boom.

The naming process may not have been quite so simple as suggested, since Bedfordshire also have a Volvo pump which carries the name "Pluto"

Could the naming have anything to do with the fact that Stagecoach's bus routes in and around Bedford are also named after planets?

they had a Volvo FL6 once that was called Jupiter

Hi Adam! The firebrigade in Norrtälje (provins Stockholm) also has names of planets on the vehicles!
