1951 AEC Regent Pump/Escape (NMN 50)

I understand that this appliance was new to the Borough of Douglas, Isle of Man.
Photographed in September 1998 at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Blandford Forum, England.
I have another photograph of this vehicle, taken at the AEC Rally having been re-registered EDM 893J.

I believe the vehicles original Isle of Man registration NMN50 was retained in the Isle of Man when the appliance came over to the mainland. The original number no longer being its official registration meant it could only be used unofficially on the rally field. At the time it was issued with a UK registration EDM893J which of course is not correct for the age of the vehicle. Since then the current owner applied for an age related plate, and for the last few years carries the registration YXG872 whilst not original, it is age related. So yes its still around and in regular use, and continually improved by its owner.
