1970's Land Rover FC - S111 - PumpThis ex Northern Ireland Fire Authority (NIFA) appliance photographed on 35mm film was seen on The Stray, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England in August 2000 having just completed the HCVS Trans-Pennine Run.
I understand that the NIFA had a number of these appliances in the 1970's and early 1980's. I think they may have been built by Carmichael but could be mistaken.
The S111 reference in the title was taken from the programme details for the run, which I presume were made by the owner.

The bodies were built by Bates of Evesham, England after the design was commissioned by the Nortthen Ireland Fire Brigade.
As the factory chassis was no longer available the vehicles was built up on a modified 1 ton 109 chassis with a 6 cylinder engine. The chassis seems to have been modified in a similar manner to the factory 2a and 2b forward controls used by other body builders.
Total production was 52 with 44 going to the NI Fire brigade.
Apologies for not listing this information in my original upload.
