SDIS 62, the Pas de Calais Departmental Fire and EMS has 1400 full time personnel and 3500 volunteers. There are 73 fire stations, serving a population of nearly 1.5 million (and the service also provides fire protection for the Channel Tunnel).
These trucks carry a supply of 110mm hose for water relaying purposes, as well as two 1000 liter foam tanks accessed by the side lockers, with induction equipment, foam branches and hose fittings, ramps and adapters also carried inside.
The center isle body allows two hose lines to be paid out simultaneously if desired. SDIS 62 has three, one in each regional command area. They are usually manned by volunteers, and are fairly typical of such combination hose layers and foam tenders used in many areas of France including Paris.
CD stands for "Camion D'accompagnement", which literally translates as "accompanying lorry" and does not in itself explain very much! The idea is that these do not respond by themselves, but only when accompanying a pumper, as they do not have their own pump.
They are not all that numerous, so your photo is a nice catch...
