The CSV is one of very few commercial truck chassis conversions which really does look like a custom fire engine. The styling is distinctive, crisp and elegant - and to my eyes this appliance still looks quite modern, apart perhaps from the quad headlights.
A pity HCB did not go to the expense of installing drop windows instead of the rather primitive sliders, and I guess it could have benefitted from a flat-sided rear body rather than the sloping styling to match the cab.
Does anyone have any comments on what it was like to live with these CSVs on the job?
