AEC REGENT ex Merthyr Tydfil HB7321You will remember the many positive comments I recieved when I posted an 'as purchased' picture of the above appliance in April ... including one suggesting I needed a rather large tin of polish !
Well, one days polishing later - followed by a day of cab cleaning by Brett Clayton - HB 7321 reappeared at Odiham Fire Show last weekend (3rd and 4th August)
Whilst there is lots more to do - the difference in appearance is very gratifying !
I was also fortunate enough to turn up an original Merthyr Coat of Arms and a pair of Marchall beacons from sellers at Odiham so the 'basics' are there now - anyone fancy stripping flaky paint of the escape ??
That reminds me Peter McCombie - I said I would look out the serial number off the ladder for you....unfortunatly the Merryweather badges and the serial no plate appear to have been removed when the ladder was last painted so I have no idea of its date/identity.
Also found in the cab was arally plaque from the very first Odiham Rally 21 years ago !
