What is road bridging equipment?

Added by Tiger on 04 August 2013.
Generally "road bridging" equipment is small ramps that allow traffic to traverse over fire hose that is laid across the roadway. They save the hose from damage and still allow the traffic to use the roadway.

The Road Bridging equipment on these, and the old AFS hose layers, conects up to make a "bridge" for the water relay to be carried over traffic on a road. Rather than using hose ramps which most pumping appliances carry. Theres a picture of one in use in the "Green Machine" book with a bus going under it.
