Stewart, I presume this appliance will be going to a station in Strathclyde? As all their pumping appliances have been bodied by JDC for a number of years. All of the others in Scotland are usually bodied by E-one. In my area Tayside we have 11 pumps bodied by JDC from 56-58 plates the rest older&newer are all E-one's Hope this helps?
Grant I'm from up grampian way, our appliances are e-one and just wondering who the builders are going to be for fitting out the pumps etc with everything trying to get standardised.. I know we have had the last of the white appliances delivered so the next set will be red up our way.
Hi Stewart, I will be up in your neck of the woods on the 22nd of June on a FBS visit to Stonehaven, Laurencekirk, Aberdeen stations and last the airport.
I dont really know? I think all appliances in the future will signed and battenburged like this but it will take a long time for appliance standardisation, but I do know only 2 companies can produce vans up to 26 tonnes, Iveco and Mercedes Benz time will tell?
Thanks Steve. Graeme Kirkwood has put a photo of another of the 13 reg pumps on his website History of Scottish Fire Brigades on the SF&RS page. It's at Polmadie.
Up here in Tayside our 2 new latest Rp's Scania P280 E-one's SP62 AVN/U are now on the run at Station 11 Kingsway East Dundee and Station 21 Perth 1st away's. The only difference being there is only one hosereel in the middle nearside locker with the offside locker carrying Water Rescue Gear as both Station's are the Water Rescue in Tayside. Im going to have to go to the stations for photographs.
