have all of Scotland's appliances been renamed Scottish Fire & rescue Service and when did they merge into one big fire service?

Not all of Scotland's appliances have been renamed only the newer or latest to come into service.Exisiting appliances I presume will be re-signed when in for a service.

Grampian have been told that all newer appliances they will get will now be red.

The offical merger into one single sevice was on April 1st, but there was a hand over sermony for the public and dignitaries on March the 29th at North Inch Perth with demonstrations of water rescue and rope rescue. All of Perth's appliances were re-signed for this. Hope this helps?

I wonder if there will ever be a merger for Wales like the Scotland or maybe England?

I would think so for Wales and then Regional brigades for England.....it going that way now with various collaboration schemes......eg we in Cheshire take all the calls and do the mobilisation for Cumbria !

If Italy, s Vigili del Fueco is anything to go by, a national fire service will have far fewer fire stations and be content with ten to twenty minute response times.

Heavily dependent on volunteers, the VdF has far fewer stations spaced widely apart, an elderly fleet of apparatus, and responds to around 25 percent of calls with two members in a 0.25 tonne light van!

With one or two strange placenames appearing on the incident website. It is still however one of the better ones for detail most of the time.

I wonder if Grampians white Scanias will get the battenbergs when re-branded
