Nice example of a modern European pumper, showing how a large amount of equipment is stowed and can be easily accessed by the crew. This type of pumper LF10/6, is probably the most common type being used by small-town volunteer fire companies all over Germany.

600 litres is now considered too small to do a decent job of initial attack, and the tank is often stepped up to 800 or
1.000 litres. As most of these have CAFS, they can handle many incidents without opening up a hydrant. The pumps are often dual-pressure four-stage types (such as Rosenbauer), which can flow 400 LPM at 40 AT in addition to the "low-pressure" output of 1, 000 LPM at 10 AT.
