I can confirm x Southampton and, having had this appliance in undercover storage for at least 25 years, it has now been moved for potential full restoration back to its original condition. It was purchased as a dual-purpose appliance and was never allocated to a fire station, being used purely as a reserve.

Hi Simon it's good that another ex Dennis restored. I've met you once many years ago on an FBS visit to Highland@Islands and remember we had to hang about at Nairn station for an RDS person to open up.

Simon It seems rather unusual to put a brand new unit into service as a reserve, rather than using older appliances near the end of their front line service life. Was this a common policy back then?
