Hallo Andrew,
Behringersdorf is not in the old eastern part of Germany. It's near Nurenberg.
This is an old Opel-Blitz with Ziegler body as an pump appliances (LF 8 in Germany). There is or was an 800l/min front mount pump and no watertank. Also it could carry a crew of 9 persons. It must be built between 1960 and 1965.

Regards
Jürgen

This volunteer fire company provides protection to a community of 8, 500 citizens, operating two pumpers, including a rescue pumper, as well as a van and a small boat out of premises which were purpose built ninety nine years ago.

This LF8 is typical of the kinds of units operated by Germany's 22,000 volunteer fire companies fifty years ago, but of course the capabilities of the modern trucks they have nowadays are much more comprehensive!

Most of them were actually Mercedes, but other brands including this Opel were also popular, especially among budget-conscious fire companies....
