ROA 652G Hydraulic Platform ERF1969 registered HP. Just added this to show the front overhang of which the driver had to be ever mindful. This is in the yard of Ladywood Fire Station, Birmingham, UK. The 'jampot' blue lights were on flexible stalks just in case someone took a swipe with the lower boom. It and the bell look slightly askew!

I don't know fire appliances have come a long way but I do know when these engines hit the streets they would have done justice to an Earls Court stand for crowd pulling and did look the part.
and Wow! the bark of that Rolls Royce Engine was another story does anyone out there know of any still in existence.
