World Rescue challenge 2012 Excel Centre London 20th October 2012. They were demonstrating boat rescue skills with parachutists falling into the Royal Victoria Dock.

I assume the thing on the roof is for reaching HGV cabs in RTCs?

I never realized that there were many incidents in London involving people parachuting into the water at the docks. But its good to know London Fire Brigade is well equipped to deal with all of them!

The roof fitting is a lighting mast. I do not know what the cage is for. Perhaps its for confining any wild animals who are parachuted in to the water?
