Thirty-four years "on the bell"! Not bad for a humble British "lorry". I find it interesting that NZ adopted the US configuration, with center mounted pump and canopy crew cab, but on a much smaller British chassis - leaving very limited room for the water tank and equipment lockers.

I think the simple red and white paint scheme is a lot easier on the eye than the hideous multi-colored mismatch of all the colors of the rainbow on the new NZ trucks. NZ seems to also be consistent in retaining only red lights for their warning systems, which is against the trend to blue, as blue lights are popping up in other countries now.
