Although NFC#1 had 2 newer pumpers, I thought it very cool to have a pic with 2 old veterans of the vfc.

Nice Shot. They almost look like diecast miniature models. As I get older, I seem to appreciate the apparatus of the past. When I go by a firehouse, I always drive around back, where often some old stuff is waiting to be discovered.

You are correct the Ford is '37 Swab fire patrol but the engine is a '49 750/300 with the small ALF V-12 I think it is. It would start first time every time. Turn the battery switch to both, wait for the fuel pump to stop clicking, about 5 seconds, hit the choke botton once, hit the start botton and drive on. When it was bought it was cream white with gold leaf and blue and black pin stripes. This shows it after it was repainted.

Thank you for your corrected info, Mr. Sees. The SPAAMFAA ALF roster shows a delivery date of 1/28/1949. I have corrected my notes of 19 yrs. ago.
