Roto-Rays, I've seen these lights on occasion, but didn't know what they were called. I have a photo of a Somerville Mass. Engine Co. with that type of light on the front. Thanks for the photo and info.

Have a look on Youtube, the motor on them seems to make a heck of a racket, they appear to be blindingly bright!!??

Oh yes, Mr. Pavel has made an appearance, are you a roto-ray hater, Yes they are supposed to be bright, as for noise, are you sure you are not hearing the truck's engine?I look forward to posting lots more USA rigs w/roto-rays just for you...

Gary, these lights come in handy when they are running Interstate 81, one of the busiest truck routes on the EAST coast.

Hi Warren and Pavel! I did a Google-search for rotorays! There is a lot of pictures, and 1 of them was the drawing for the patent. On a another,
a engine with 6 Mars 8-8-8 lights, and 8 rotorays!
I don't know if is real, or photoshoped!!!
